These tests have been developed by leading technical training companies, by Certified Novell and Microsoft instructors and experienced industry professionals. Tecsys believes that technical skills alone do not make a successful support representative. His or her ability to relate to a variety of customer situations is a major factor in the successful delivery of service. A range of behavioural questions are included in our testing procedures to gauge a candidate’s response to various situations. Tecsys also has extensive experience in conducting customer service training for support staff. Tecsys consultants determine a candidate’s suitability for a position through the use of structured interview techniques, employing a series of open, probing and behavioural questions. They then conduct reference checking to validate this information.
Structured InterviewingUsing this technique, three aspects are carefully looked at: How well can the candidate do the job? Technical questions are developed for each position to test knowledge and determine the type of action candidates would take in resolving a technical problem. Tecsys consultants have the technical knowledge and experience to gauge a candidate’s likely technical performance.
How well will the candidate do the job? Questions are focused to determine what has motivated the candidate in the past, and to clearly determine the real reason why he/she is leaving his/her present employment. These factors are reviewed against the motivators in the position to be filled.
How well will the candidate fit in? Tecsys believe most job failures emanate from candidates not fitting in with the culture of the organisation they join. Frequently, it is not that candidates lack technical skills or knowledge; it is simply that they lack communication or interpersonal skills to relate to the type of people with whom they work.
Reference CheckingTecsys believes the most accurate indication of how a candidate will perform in a job can be gained from closely examining a candidate’s performance and relationships formed with previous employers. It is company policy that all candidates have a minimum of two reference checks conducted before a placement or a temporary candidate commences an assignment. Transcripts of the reference checks are provided to the employer if required. From our testing, structured interviews and detailed reference checking, we believe we can present a picture of how a candidate will perform in a new work environment.
Contingency RecruitmentTecsys is happy to undertake a recruitment assignment that may be given to other agencies or filled by recommendations from staff members.
In the event that our candidate is not chosen, we do not charge for any work undertaken. In the event that our candidate is chosen, Tecsys will charge a placement fee and provide a 3-month guarantee.
